Matthieu Llodra and Arthur Donnot - the composers behind KUMA - have a classical jazz education and grew up with hip-hop culture, the techno and house club scene. Their album "Honey & Groat" is like a bear (KUMA in Japanese): there is a lot of power behind the apparent serenity. The resulting urban groove is reminiscent of the soul-jazz of the 70s: instrumental talent meets pop simplicity. Incredibly good!
